Description
The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Federal Medical Center, Butner, North Carolina, intends to issue a firm-fixed price, sole source purchase order to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. This non-competitive action is being issued by the Federal Correctional Complex, Butner, NC. The Federal Correctional Complex has a need for Medical Examination for expired inmates at this time. These services will be for the period of October 1, 2019 through September 30, 2020. The Government believes that the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services is the only vendor that will satisfy the agency requirement for ME Investigations and Autopsy of deceased inmates and North Carolina General Statute also provides for this. The NAICS code is 622110. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations, as no solicitation document is available. However any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give a written or fax notification to the Contracting Officer within five (5) calendar days from the date of this published synopsis. This is not a request for competitive quotes. This is sole source procurement under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Other Than Full and Open Competition (FAR 6.302-1). The intent of this Special Notice is for informational purposes only. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Responses will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received FCC Butner will proceed with sole source negotiated with North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, POC: Arthur Johnson, Contract Specialist, FCC-Butner, PO Box 999, Butner, NC 27509.
