- The Wilmington VA Medical Center requires brand name Remel media for microbiology laboratory testing on cultures taken from patients. Please provide your entities information for providing the Remel media listed in the shipping schedule below or an authorized distribution letter to Andrew Taylor, Contract Specialist by email andrew.taylor3@va.gov by 07-10-2019 at 400 EST; reference Source Sought Notice 36C24419Q0875 in the subject line of the email. STATEMENT OF NEED FOR MICROBIOLOGY MEDIA Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) and College of American Pathologists (CAP) Accreditation Standards require that Laboratories validate products prior to using them. This Laboratory has already validated the Remel Media. Therefore this is a brand name requirement for Remel Media. This requirement is for an initial period of performance of one year plus 4 option years to begin on October 1, 2019. The following is a list of the REMEL Media that is needed.
