- Description
- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District Office requires a contract for Mouth of Colorado Maintenance Dredging in Matagorda County, Texas. Project Information: Work Consists of Maintenance dredging and advanced maintenance dredging of the Mouth of the Colorado (approximately 7.5 miles). • Option 1 will include dredging from channel station 0+000 to channel station 37+200 and will include varying advanced maintenance and 2' over-depth. Material from the entrance channel and jetty channel will be placed on the beach adjacent to the west jetty. Material from the main channel may be placed in Placement Area (PA) 108. PA 108 will also require new hand-railing around the PA's spill box, this work is required for use of the PA • Option 2 will include the clearing and grubbing of PA 3 located at the intersection of the Mouth of the Colorado River and the Gulf Intra-coastal Waterway (GIWW). Completion Time: 12,000 CYs per day. This contract is subject to several environmental windows, including bird nesting, turtle nesting, and piping plover. All work must be completed within the winter months (October - February) to avoid impacts to bird nesting and turtle nesting, and monitors will be required to avoid impacts to piping plover. Placement of material will include both beach placement and upland confined placement. If the contractor fails to complete the work within the time specified, the contractor shall pay liquidated damages in an amount TBD to the Government for each calendar day of delay until the work is completed or accepted. The Contractor will be required to provide the Performance and Payment Bonds within 5 calendar day after award. The contractor shall begin work within 10 calendar days after acknowledgement of the Notice to Proceed. The Solicitation will be issued as Firm Fixed Price. The magnitude of this project is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. The solicitation is advertised as "Full and Open Competition". The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code applicable to this project is 237990. The Small Business Size Standard is $27.5 Million (dredging). The solicitation will be issued on or about 24 June 2019. Response date is 24 July 2019 @ 2:00 PM (CST) (All bids must be submitted electronically via www.FBO.gov). The estimated award date for this project is August 2019.
