Description
The United States Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) is issuing a Notice of Intent for a Sole Source the award of a firm fixed price contract with Bruker, AXS, Madison, WI. The Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) in Silver Spring, MD hosts a central repository of multi-drug resistant organisms (MDROs). Isolates are sent to the WRAIR from Department of Defense (DOD) Medical Treatment Facilities (MTFs) and other non-DOD MTFs throughout the world. The purpose of this requirement is to obtain preventive maintenance and unlimited emergency repair service visits to ensure the performance of the X-Ray Diffractometer ECN Q8654, Serial Number 2417, including one each Computer Processing Unit ECN Q8655, Serial Number 1297344, one each Diffract meter relay ECN Q8657, Serial Number W1101361, and One each Diffract meter Chiller ECN Q8658, Serial Number HA 13629 as defined in this PWS at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, Building 503, Room 2S12. This equipment is proprietary and no other vendors or contractors can satisfy the requirements. As the manufacturer Bruker AXS has the only access to spare parts and service personnel with the necessary certification and experience needed to maintain this equipment. This will be the final year of support required as the useful life of the equipment will be reached by the end of the contract. The estimated period of performance for this acquisition is one year. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTATIONS. Responsible, interested parties may identify their interest by submitting capability information by Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. EST in order to establish the ability of the responder to meet this requirement. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed contract modification is based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government; information received will be considered for the sole purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government will not be responsible for any costs associated with responses to this notification. All inquiries must be submitted via e-mail to nathaniel.a.reus.civ@mail.mil.
