Description
This Sources Sought Notice is for informational and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation or commitment by the Government. This notice is intended strictly for Market Research. The purposes of this Sources Sought Notice is to determine interest and capability of prospective contractors relative to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 339113 (Surgical Appliance and Supplies Manufacturing). The Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital in Hines, Illinois has a requirement for Sterile Surgical Case Carts. This is a Brand Name or Equal procurement and the Pedigo Revolution Case Carts reflect the characteristics and level of quality that will satisfy the Government s minimum specified requirements. Salient Characteristics: Cart doors with built in window which gives the ability to see trays within the cart along with polycarbonate scratch-resistant windows. Cart window doors that also have Rubber gasket which seals around the windows & the interior contents. Carts must be made of the following materials aluminum and stainless steel. Inside floor of the cart (base) must have up to is 1 ½ º slope towards the rear of cart which maintains any given fluids/water to quickly drain during cart washing to minimize residual water or fluids. High temps resistant Impact resistant bumpers to all four corners of the case cart which are mounted directly to the cart body. A Polymer handle which makes the handling of the cart easier and is cooler to the touch after cart washing. An integrated door catch mechanism with horizontal mounted paddle latches. Roll-out wire shelves with two position latching mechanism which safely locks the shelf in or out. (Must have a spring-loaded self-locking capability). Aluminum Powder-Coated Doors which prevents from chipping and overall wear and tear. Locking Directional swivel casters/wheels- must have at least two pedal activated swivel lock castersthat are located at diagonal corners with caster being bolt mounted to base of the cart. Integrated Door Catch Adjustable Door Hinge Thermo tested Casters- must be temperature rated to at least 280 ° Fahrenheit, must have at the minimum four precision bearings in each caster with stainless steel sealed ball bearings in the axle and swivel maneuverability to reduce the overall push/pull force. Dimension of case carts- (inside and outside capacities) must also offer various options and models. All of these dimension measurements must meet at least meet the following measurements as listed below. 1) Option/model- Single door (taller vertical style) cart: Outside dimensions: 29"W x 27 ½"D x 59"H Interior functional space: 20"W x 23 ½"D x 44 ¾"H or 2) Option/model- double doors (taller vertical style) cart: Outside dimensions: 36"W x 27 ½"D x 59"H Interior functional space: 27"W x 23 ½"D x 44 ¾"H 3) Option/model- double doors (shorter horizontal style) cart: Outside dimensions: 46 ¼"W x 27 ½"D x 42"H Interior functional space: 37 ¼"W x 23 ½"D x 27 ¾"H If you intend to submit an equal product for evaluation, please ensure that you are in total compliance with FAR Clause 52.211-6 Brand Name or Equal (Aug 1999) prior to responding to this Request for Information. The Contracting Officer will evaluate equal products on the basis of information furnished by the offeror or identified in the offer and reasonably available to the Contracting Officer. The Contracting Officer is not responsible for locating or obtaining any information that is not identified in the offer. Vendors must provide ALL of the items listed, this order cannot be parted out. Vendors must also provide letters from the manufacturers verifying they are Authorized Distributors of their products. Interested firms that can meet the requirements stated above should respond in writing and include the following information: Company name: Address: Point of contact (name/title/telephone number/e-mail address). FSS Contract number, if applicable: DUNS number: Business category (SDVOSB, VOSB, Small Business or Large Business) A capability statement that addresses the organizations qualifications and ability to provide the requirement depicted above. An Authorized Distributor letter or memo from the manufacturer. Reference the product, and sources sought number on all correspondence regarding this announcement. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this requirement is 339113 and the small business size standard is 750 employees.
