- 2 Page 3 of 3 1. BACKGROUND The VA Cooperative Studies Program Clinical Research Pharmacy Coordinating Center was recently designated a VA Biorepository and designated as the secondary biorepository for the Million Veteran Program. This new function located in the section of the facility known as the Annex has multiple requirements for equipment to provide data to computer systems to maintain sample inventory, manage complex laboratory equipment operations, and allow new work spaces to access networked resources. The facility s current computer network does not have service in the areas housing the Biorepository functions, so it needs to be expanded. 2. SCOPE The vendor will provide all materials and labor to install network cabling between the Server Room, Annex Communications Room, and new network drops to be added in workspaces. The below table lists Start/End locations, number of cables, and approximate distance between locations. This is for both appearance and user familiarity purposes. Cables must be CAT 6 Plenum and will be terminated in workspaces in dual-port enclosures. Cables will be terminated in Patch Panels in both the Server Room and Communications Room Vendor must use supports such as J-hooks to support cables where appropriate. 3. SPECIFIC TASKS 3.1 Produce final design for user review and approval prior to ordering materials. 3.2 Provide materials and labor to complete installation project. 3.3 Verify new cabling for proper data transmission after installation at 350MhZ or better. 4. PERFORMANCE MONITORING Task Standard Acceptable Level Method Verify new cabling for proper data transmission after installation. a) Network connections operational AQL: 100% of new cables must be operational to complete contract. Direct Observation Verify new cabling for proper data transmission after installation. 5. GOVERNMENT FURNISHED EQUIPMENT Electric man-lift for use by vendor. 6.
