Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Seegene Technologies, Inc for the procurement of 22 Novaplex II HPV28 Detection (RUO) kits. Seegene Technologies is the sole manufacturer and provider of the Novaplex assay. Novaplex provides qualitative and semi-quantitative results for the detection of 28 HPV DNA types (6, 11, 16, 18, 26, 31, 33, 35, 39, 40, 42, 43, 44, 45, 51, 52, 53, 54, 56, 58, 59, 61, 66, 68, 69, 70, 73, and 82). Due to the Novaplex's multiplexed melt-curve analysis, the assay produces type-specific assay results in less than a half a day. No other assay that the program has experience with can give type-specific detection of so many HPV types in such a short time. Other products are either take a day or more to give multi-type results or take less than a day but give limited type results.. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1)..
