- This is a sources sought notice for market research purposes only to determine the availability of potential businesses with capabilities to provide the services described below. Potential offerors are invited to provide feedback via e-mail to makarim.abdul-jabbar@va.gov. Responses will be used to determine the appropriate acquisition strategy for a potential future acquisition. The intended contract period is one-year base period plus (4) four one-year option periods. Potential contractors shall provide, at a minimum, the following: 1) Company name, address, point of contact, phone number, e-mail address, and DUNS. 2) Is your firm eligible for participation in one of the following small business programs? The capabilities statement for this sources sought is not expected to be a Request for Quotation, Request for Proposal or Invitation for Bid, nor does it restrict the Government to an ultimate acquisition approach, but rather the Government is requesting a short statement regarding the company s ability to provide the services outlined in the draft SOW below. Any commercial brochures or currently existing marketing material may also be submitted with the capabilities statement. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. The Government will not pay for information solicited. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. Contractor shall provide: Workforce development program with a duration of 16 weeks. Program content shall cover topics: (1) How to be successful in the workforce development program; (2) Life management skills; (3) Mastering communication in the workplace; (4) Principles of patient satisfaction and safety; (5) Medical terminology; (6) Effective problem solving; (7) Critical thinking skills; and (8) Planning for your future (includes personal and career planning areas). Each training session shall last 2-hours each week. The program material in the student workbooks shall be facilitated by the coach one week and the recorded teaching material for that same topic shall be presented the next week. Materials furnished: 20 Student Packages. Student training packages with Program workbook; Dictionary; Medical terminology guide; and online content. 2 Coach Packages. Coach materials shall include all student materials and facilitator (coach) guide, subject DVDs supporting each program topic; and access to online student program management system. Online student program management system to include coach access to monitor student content progression and completion and career planning content enabling students to explore personal and career preferences. The online content shall be protected by using individual passworded accounts for coaches and students. Coaches shall have access to student passwords and user names within the online coach access. The online personal and career planning materials shall provide student activities in the following areas: Assess current job, skills and career interests Identify personal barriers and work to eliminate these barriers Learn about advancement opportunities in the medical field Research career steps and financial aid options Build an effective resume Participate in job shadowing sessions Student access to online content and personal and career planning materials for one-year after the completion of the training program. The DVD content shall provide recorded instructors presenting each topic listed in program content. DVDs shall be recorded to complete the topic in a single session and provide approximately one-hour and 15 minutes of run (teaching time) per session. Student recruitment materials Student placement materials, such as the TABE testing process or similar processes to evaluate adult education levels. Placement materials shall assess the basics of reading, English, and math levels of employee applicants. Customer support for online system and content made available to coaches. This is a sources sought notice only. The information gathered from this request is for information and planning purposes only and will not be released. This does not constitute a solicitation. No solicitation is currently published, pending, or available. If a solicitation is issued, it will be issued at a later date. Responses to requests for information are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract.
