Description

SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE: This is a SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE; not a pre-solicitation notice or solicitation for proposals/quotations. Pursuant to FAR Part 10 (Market Research), the purpose of this notice is to: (1) determine if sources capable of satisfying the agency's requirements exists, (2) determine if commercial items suitable to meet the agency's needs are available or could be modified to meet the agency's requirements, and (3) determine the commercial practices of company's engaged in providing the needed service or supply. Pursuant to FAR Part 6 and FAR Part 19, competition and set-aside decisions may be based on the results of this market research. This notice in no way obligates the Government to any further action. REQUIREMENT: This notice is issued by the U.S. Coast Guard, Surface Force Logistics Center; Baltimore, MD to identify sources capable of repair/overhaul Balmar 98 Series Alternator used on the 47' Motor Life Boats. These Alternators shall be opened, disassembled, inspected, reported, overhauled, reconditioned, tested, preserved, packaged, marked, tracked and shipped back to the Coast Guard Yard, Baltimore, MD. All replacement parts used during the repair must be genuine Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts - no substitutes or aftermarket parts shall be accepted. Delivery shall be F.O.B. Destination. SEE ATTACHED STATEMENT OF WORK This requirement is 100% small business set aside. Concerns having the expertise and required capabilities to provide 98 Series Alternators and can repair/overhaul these alternators invited to submit complete information discussing the same within 5 (five) calendar days from the day this notice is posted. NOTE: THIS NOTICE MAY HAVE POSTED ON FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (13-SEP-2017). IT ACTUALLY APPEARED OR REAPPEARED ON THE FEDBIZOPPS SYSTEM ON 05-APR-2019, BUT REAPPEARED IN THE FTP FEED FOR THIS POSTING DATE.
