- Description
- The Mid-Pacific Region of the Bureau of Reclamation intends to issue a Solicitation for a firm fixed-price service contract for Eastside Bypass Improvements Project Weir Removal. This procurement is set-aside for Total Small Business. The work to be performed is described below. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 238910 and the related small business size standard is $14.0M. This notice is not an invitation for offers and the information presented in this announcement will not obligate the Bureau of Reclamation in any manner. The estimated cost of this project is between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. The work is located within the Eastside Bypass Flood Control Channel, approximately 16 miles south-west of Merced, California in Merced County. PRINCIPAL COMPONENTS OF WORK: A. Remove, crate, and deliver gaging station hardware to US Bureau of Reclamation, Friant Dam Office, Friant CA. B. Construct Coffer Dams as required to protect sites during the work. C. Selectively saw-cut and remove reinforced concrete pier walls, sill walls, structural and miscellaneous metalwork, timber planking, and miscellaneous hardware. Existing concrete buried cut-off walls and slab to remain as a permanent feature at the Lower Weir. All features shall be removed at the Upper Weir. D. Excavate and remove existing reinforced concrete abutments (4 total, 2 each at the Upper and Lower weirs). E. Place soil backfill in excavated areas at each abutment site. F. Do not compact soil, which would inhibit re-vegetation efforts. G. Recycle, reuse, salvage, or dispose of all waste materials removed at permitted sites. H. Restore disturbed soil areas, primarily at the abutments but potentially other locations around the weirs. I. Install erosion control measures as required by permits to prevent loss of soil materials. J. Place seeding mix, saplings, and other items (fertilizer, irrigation, etc.) to initiate re-vegetation efforts. K. Restore other disturbed areas. Solicitation 140R2019Q0073 will be posted electronically via www.fedbizopps.gov on or about March 27, 2019. The date for receipt of offers will be approximately April 26, 2019. The solicitation must be downloaded at the above website; no paper copy of this solicitation will be distributed. Prospective contractors MUST be actively registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database at http://www.sam.gov to be eligible for award.
