RFQ#:36C26219Q0468 PROJECT TITLE: NEPHROS FILTERS FOR VETERANS AFFAIRS SAN DIEGO HEALTHCARE SYSTEM This is a combined synopsis/solicitation set-aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) for commercial supplies/services prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with the additional information included in this notice. The combined synopsis/solicitation is set-aside for qualified SDVOSB under NAICS 333318 (or related). This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This is a request for quotes under solicitation number: 36C26219Q0468. The Department of Veterans Affairs San Diego Healthcare System, San Diego, CA 92161 has a requirement for Ergonomic Supplies. This will be a Firm Fixed-Price contract for One Base Year and Four One-Year Option Periods with pre-priced line items to provide Nephros Filters. One delivery of 90 filters within 30 days of contract award and a second delivery of 90 filters within 6 months thereafter. Filters to retain bacteria, viruses and endotoxin. By providing ultrapure water for patient washing and drinking, the filters aid in infection control. Must produce water that is suitable for wound cleansing Must produce water for cleaning of equipment used in medical procedures Must produce water suitable for washing of surgeon's hands. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS Minimum requirements: SAFETY The DSU-H has a unique double ultrafiltration design such that all the filtration occurs in the front section of the filter while the back section serves as a redundant safety filter. During operation, the front section of the filter is likely to become fouled with particulate from the incoming water while the back section remains clean. In the unlikely event there is a small breach in the first filter stage, water is still completely filtered by the second (redundant) filter stage. Must utilize existing quick disconnect with check valve for post filter sterilization injection. Provided filters shall not require modification to the existing disconnects.
