- Request for Information (RFI) The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is issuing this RFI in accordance with FAR 15.201(e). The agency does not intend to award a contract but rather gather information on capability, delivery and other market information pertinent for acquisition planning. The result of this market research will contribute to determining the method of procurement and identify parties having an interest in and the resources to support this requirement for the following: Ride Share RFI I. BACKGROUND Employment is a key element in helping Veterans transition out of homelessness or avoid homelessness altogether. Employment improves quality of life, self-confidence, independence, and expanded opportunity for socialization. Partnerships like the Ride Share/Homeless Veteran s Employment Initiative can be a possible solution to increase the employment access for many veterans living in transitional housing and unemployed because of a lack of transportation. II. OBJECTIVE OR SCOPE OF EFFORT The Government is interested in obtaining information regarding potential solutions for flexible transportation to job interviews and a place of employment for up to 2 weeks. III. Required Services Potential vendors must provide the following services: Vendor must be able to provide transportation for up to 60 Veterans at any given time in the Memphis, TN area, as well as the Boston, MA area Ability to schedule transportation for multiple riders at least 2 weeks in advance Vendor must demonstrate experience with successful and timely performance Vendor must accept payments from a centralized, or business account Vendor must be able to provide an itemized receipt of all transactions on a monthly basis THERE IS NO SOLICITATION AT THIS TIME. This request for capabilities information does not constitute a request for proposals; submission of any information in response to this market survey is purely voluntary; the government assumes no financial responsibility for any costs incurred. Your responses may be shared with all stakeholders, thus the information received will not be considered proprietary. If your organization has the potential capacity to perform these contract services, please provide the following information: 1. Organization name, address, web site, and DUNS number. 2. Point of contact to include e-mail address and telephone number. 3. Business size (large or small). If small, please provide type of small business. 4. North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) that best fits these task areas. 5. If applicable, GSA contract number, schedule, and SIN category. STRUCTURE AND SUBMISSION OF RESPONSES Contractors should respond to this RFI by February 22, 2019 by 12 PM EST via e-mail to Nathan.Bradley2@va.gov and David.Hunley@va.gov. Limit all responses to 10 pages.
