- Amendment 0001 is issued to provide the questions and answers received from the site visit that was held on February 11, 2019. 1. How many expansion tanks need to be replaced with boiler? Answer: All four of the expansion that service the two-boiler complex. They must be replaced with tanks of equal size and construction. The fifth expansion tank in the overhead is cold water for the chiller and does not require replacement. 2. Will we be supplying a wiring diagram for the Logic controls? Answer: No, wiring diagrams must be requested from the Control Service Co., as identified in the Statement of Work, (Proprietary). 3. What is the gas pressure entering the building? Answer: Pressure entering the building is 5 - 9 lbs. 4. Will we have a forklift available to aid in the loading and offloading of materials for the boiler replacement? Answer: Yes, we will assist if needed and will operate the forklift. 5. Is there a Firematic type system that will shut down the boiler in case of emergency? Answer: No. 6. Are there emergency boiler shut offs located outside of the boiler room? Answer: No, these must be included with the bid. There is boiler shut off switches located within the mechanical room. 7. Is there a place provided to drain the existing boiler before removal? Answer: No, the system is glycol filled. It is anticipated that the contractor will recover the glycol and reuse it to the maximum extent practical. If additional glycol is needed to achieve desired freeze point the CERC will provide it. 8. Is there an area provided for the loading and unloading of materials from a trailer? Answer: Yes, there is ample room outside the building for off load materials. There is no indoor or climate-controlled storage for materials. Contractors may park a temporary construction/storage trailer on site at a location near the building with the approval of the Contracting Officer ¿s Representative. This Solicitation Notice is to announce the U.S. Department of Interior (DOI), U.S. Geological Survey (UGSG) has a requirement for the A3 BOILER REPLACEMENT in accordance with the attached solicitation. The solicitation number is 140G0219Q0032 and is being issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ). The policies contained in FAR Part 12, in conjunction with the policies and procedures for solicitation, evaluation and award prescribed in Part 13, as appropriate, shall be used for this acquisition. This is a 100% SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE. The associated NAICS Code is 238220 - Plumbing, Heating and Air-Conditioning Contractors. A copy of this solicitation may be accessed by clicking on the FedConnect Link below, under "Solicitation 1". All requirements for preparation, submission, and receipt of quotes are contained in this solicitation and shall be adhered to.
