Additionally, the Government reserves the right to revise specifications, and refine contract requirements, before the release of any associated solicitation. This is not a Request for Proposals (RFP). Attached Specifications and Drawings are subject to change prior to release of any solicitation. Other information provided in this notice is subject to change prior to release of a solicitation. There is an error in the project number, which is being addressed. OVERVIEW The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 6 is conducting market research to identify potential sources for construction services to complete the below scope of work. The work site is the hospital campus of the W. G. (Bill) Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury, North Carolina. A Statement of Work, drawings and specifications are attached, and a revised document format of the drawings has been requested to improve clarity. The architect-engineering firm that designed the project shall not be contacted directly regarding this notice. Forward all questions to the point of contact identified below. This is not a presolicitation notice, but the magnitude of construction for this project is between $100,000 and $250,000. PROJECT SUMMARY Six (6) kitchens in Building 42 (a skilled nursing center) and two (2) kitchens in Building 8 (inpatient facility) have no means to extract grease laden vapor from cooking operations. Sanitary and building codes need to be addressed by installation of commercial exhaust hoods, and other related work. SCOPE OF WORK Project 659-18-106, Install Exhaust Hoods for Cooking in Buildings 8 and 42: The General Contractor to completely prepare site for construction operations, including demolition, labor and the removal of existing structures and equipment. Contractor to furnish materials and labor to perform work for the complete installation of fully operational kitchen exhaust hoods and roof mounted fans that include but not limited to structure and attachment, controls/wiring, ducts/ducting, wall framing, fire suppression, fire alarms, connections, rooftop work and all associated components as required by the drawings and specifications. Contractor to ensure that the new hoods and exhaust fans are completely and fully integrated into the building system s fire alarm and fire suppression systems. Work (for all Phases), including final cleanup and completion of any punch list items, shall be performed within one hundred and eighty (180) days after the date of receipt of notice to proceed. SMALL BUSINESS REQUIREMENTS For market research purposes, all responses to this notice will be reviewed, regardless of small business/socioeconomic category, including those firms that are identified as large businesses. Review of responses to this notice will support later determination of set-aside requirements, if a solicitation becomes available, where the rule of two is met regarding a set-aside, including set-asides under 38 U.S.C. 8127 and 8128 for SDVOSB and/or VOSB firms registered in the VIP database, in accordance with priorities set by regulation.
