Description

LMP seeks the procurement of managed support for the iWAY CICS. CICS is a family of mixed language application operations that provide online transaction management and connectivity for applications on system mainframes under z/OS and z/VSE. CICS is a middle ware design to support rapid, high-volume online transaction processing through the LMP and Defense Information Systems Agency Defense Enterprise Computer Center data center in Ogden, Utah. To enable all functions of CICS, a software adapter is embedded within the firmware to enable data transfer to and from data systems without any delays. This adapter provides the means of exchanging real- time data between operating systems and other applications for inbound and outbound processing. Furthermore, this adapter uses extensible markup language (XML) messages to enable non-SAP applications to communicate and exchange transactions with SAP using applications, which mitigates the necessity of changing coding and/or applications prior and post movement of data.
