Description

NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to negotiate a contract on a sole source basis with Tennant Sales and Service Company, Minneapolis, MN. The purpose of the contract is for the supply and maintenance of Tennant T-500 Model Floor Scrubber for the Division of Veterinary Resources (DVR). DVR maintains a multiple animal facility on the Bethesda campus in the 14/28 Group Buildings that house approximately 20-30,000 cages of animals. These animals are housed in rooms with connecting corridors and support spaces. The rooms, corridors and support spaces are routinely sanitized to maintain a clean environment that is conducive to good animal health. This sanitation is a requirement to maintain AAALAC accreditation. Purchasing the Tennant T-500 floor scrubbers will contribute to and enhance the sanitation of the animal facilities. The T500 utilizes a patented ecH20 Nano clean technology that reduces water usage and eliminates the need for harsh cleaning chemicals. All combined will save DVR the purchase cost of chemicals, improve employee safety and reduce environmental impact.
