- Notice of Intent to Sole Source / Justification For Other Than Full And Open Competition The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Network Contracting Office (NCO) 21 intends to enter into a firm-fixed price, sole source, contract modification with Olympus America, Inc., 3500 Corporate Parkway, Center Valley, Pennsylvania 18034 for two (2) additional years of an endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) and video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) equipment lease and two (2) additional years of maintenance services for the VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System (VASNHS), 6900 North Pecos Road, North Las Vegas, Nevada 89086. The award action, contract modification number 36C26118P2304 P00001, will not be a new contract. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 532490 Other Commercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment Rental and Leasing, and the business size standard is $32.5 million dollars. The product classification code is W065 Lease or Rental of Equipment Medical, Dental, and Veterinary Equipment Supplies. The contract will have one (1) base year and two (2) option years with the execution of the contract modification. The estimated award date is February 1, 2019. The authority to enter into a sole source contract modification is pursuant to 41 U.S.C. §1901 Simplified Acquisition Procedures, and this is for supplies and services in accordance with FAR subpart 13.5 Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial Items, and specifically FAR 13.501 Special Documentation Requirements, where acquisitions conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR part 6, but still require a justification using the format of FAR 6.303-2. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE/JUSTIFICATION FOR OTHER THAN FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION IS NOT A SOLICITATION, AND QUOTES ARE NOT REQUESTED. A determination by the U.S. Government to not compete this proposed contract modification, based on any responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
