36C25019Q0275 SPECIAL NOTICE NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE FORCEPS LUSK MICROBITE The Department of Veterans Affairs, The Cleveland Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center (CLE VAMC), 10701 East Blvd., Cleveland, Ohio 44106 intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106(b)(1)(i) - Contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. The NAICS code is 339112 with a small business size standard of 318. The VA intends to solicit and negotiate with Buffalo Supply, Inc., 1650A Coal Creek Drive, Lafayette, Colorado 80026, for forceps. Forceps Lusk Micro bite medical Forceps are used during surgeries and other medical procedures. This will allow the surgeon to be more precise in tweezing, clamping, and applying pressure during surgery. They can be used as pincers or extractors. They are used in emergency rooms, exam rooms, and operating rooms. Items similar to articulating tongs, forceps used for holding or removing tissue or for placing or removing gauze, sponges, or wipes. Surgery Medical Staff will benefit from pairs of straight, 40 degree and 90 degree angle forceps. Other persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by Friday January 11, 2019 at 5PM EST. Such capabilities information will be used solely to determine if to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government.  A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
