Description

Description of Requirement: inspection and testing of several types of laboratory fume hoods (testing could include face velocity, total air flow, hood static pressure, smoke visualization, cross draft, identification of maintenance issues, and synchronization of individual hood flow monitors, per ANSI/AIHA Z 9.5 and ANSI/ASHRAE 110), local exhaust ventilation systems (testing could include total airflow, hood static pressure, capture velocity, and identification of maintenance issues, per ANSI/AIHA Z 9.2), biological safety cabinets (testing per NSF 49), nanoparticulate enclosures (testing per NSF 49) and plumbed eyewash and/or deluge showers (testing could include measure and record water flow, water temperature, simultaneous flushing for both eyes, per ANSI/ISEA Z358.1) at the NIST Gaithersburg Campus to determine compliance with applicable ASHRAE, ANSI, NSF, AIHA, ACGIH or with NIST-specified performance criteria.
