Description

RFI Questions and Answers for Fayetteville New Parking and Curbing Project 36C78619R0012 1.              Are there any plans of the current irrigation system from the original installation or modifications over the years?     DISTRICT RESPONSE:   An irrigation drawing is being provided, but it is not all inclusive and may not reflect actual conditions.   Contractor is responsible to identify and/or verify existing irrigation lines and components in and around the construction area.   Contract needs to coordinate and work with the cemetery staff on locating and operating the irrigation system while under construction. 2.       Is the successful  contractor responsible to  only perform work on the irrigation system within the project construction area, even if  other issues outside the construction area need to be resolved (such as wiring issues, breaks, damages outside of construction area) before the sections in the proposed construction area are fixed and modified?   DISTRICT RESPONSE:   Contractor is responsible to identify existing irrigation lines and components in and around the construction area.   The Contractor is also responsible to repair and/or replace any irrigation system piping and components damaged and/or disturbed by the Contractor in and around the project area and any area within the cemetery.   Again, the Contract needs to coordinate and work with the cemetery staff on locating and operating the irrigation system while under construction. 3.              On page 1 and page 12 the preferred method for submission of proposals is electronically to Kelly Rima. In block 13a of the additional solicitation requirements it says sealed offers in original and one copy which means proposals would need to be mailed in. Which is the required method of submission? DISTRICT RESPONSE:   Either method is acceptable for submission, but email is preferred. 4. Would it be possible for us to the get the CAD file for the plan sheets or a corrected version of the pdf file?   As of right now, it appears that the pdf file for the plan sheets were created from CAD and turned into an 8.5 x 11 document instead of what I assume is a 22 x34 or 24 x36 as it was intended to be.   When an 8.5 x11 pdf document is created, it throws the scale of the plan sheets off and makes exceptionally difficult to accurately measure quantities for pricing particularly when the scale used on the plan views are architectural scale (feet inches) instead of engineering/construction scale (decimal feet). DISTRICT RESPONSE:   New drawings will be added to FBO that should allow for correct download. 5.              On the plan sheets it says to reroute irrigation lines and components as required and to cap ends of modified irrigation lines, but it gives no information regarding the existing irrigation or what is required for rerouting.    Without knowing what is in the demo area or how the existing irrigation system is set up, we have no way of knowing how to reroute or reconnect any of the components to ensure the system continues to function properly.     DISTRICT RESPONSE: See response to question number 1 and 2.
