- Description
- The U.S. Government has an ongoing requirement to purchase bags of ice in indefinite quantities at non-regular ordering intervals in support of the Joint Base Lewis McChord's Subsistence Supply Management Office's Ice Procurement Plan. The Contracting Officer has authorized the establishment of an ice Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) with an ordering period of two (2) years from the date of agreement award in order to meet this identified need. The qualified Contractor shall provide ice in accordance with the terms and conditions of subsequent orders or "Calls" made against this Master BPA. The Government intends to place one bulk order per month, but the number of orders per month may increase slightly during the summer months. The Government has estimated the quantities required by month and are prescribed in the schedule as part of Exhibit A. The estimated annual cumulative quantity for Calls placed against this BPA is approximately 160,000 lbs of crushed ice (20 lbs bags) and 25,000 lbs of block ice (15-20 lbs blocks) based upon the average usage rates for the past several years. The total value for both years of the BPA shall not exceed 350,000 lbs of crushed ice and 60,000 lbs of block ice. All quantities represented in this document, the solicitation, and resulting BPA are estimated quantities. In order to ensure a high quality product, the ice shall be made, stored, and conveyed using food safety standards and practices in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
