- This Sources Sought notice is for informational and planning purposes only. It does not constitute a Solicitation and is not to be considered as a commitment by the Government. All firms responding to this sources sought notice are advised that their response to this notice is not a request that will be considered for contract award. The information from this market research is for planning purposes only and will assist the Government in planning its acquisition strategy. This is strictly market research and the Government will not entertain questions concerning this market research. The intent of this notice is to determine the availability of product that will meet the following criteria: Line item 10: Group-operated 'Disconnect' switch shall be designed to be mounted horizontally with Vertical Break Disconnect switch and include the following characteristics: 1. Maximum Voltage Rating of 15.5kV 2. BIL 110kV 3. Rated Power Frequency 60 Hz 4. Continuous Current 1200A 5. Short-Time Symmetrical Withstand (3 sec) 38kA RMS 6. Peak Momentary Withstand 99kA 7. Maintenance free bearings The disconnect shall be supplied with: 1. The Sub Assembly 2. The Base 3. The Insulators 4. 6-hole NEMA tin plated copper terminal pads 5. The nameplate shall specify: 5.1. The disconnect part No. or style No. 5.2. The rating in KV 5.3. The weight of the complete disconnect assembly 5.4. The IEEE / IEC class 5.5. The Serial No. 5.6. The unit stacking order of the insulators Disconnect switch bolt pattern will need to match existing bolt pattern on transformer in order to be mounted to existing manual switch handle. Line Item 002: Group-operated 'Ground' switch shall be designed to be mounted in parallel with Vertical Break disconnect switch and include the following characteristics: 1. Maximum Voltage Rating of 15.5kV 2. BIL 110kV 3. Peak Momentary Withstand 100kA 4. Maintenance free bearings Ground switch connection will need to match existing connection in order to be mounted on existing manual switch handle. NOTE: THE GOVERNMENT IS SEEKING SOURCES TO DETERMINE IF THERE ARE OTHER MANUFACTURERS ¿ SWITCHES AVAILABLE THAT ARE COMPATIBLE WITH THE Westinghouse Transformer (SEE PICTURES for additional information): Potential offerors having product capabilities necessary to meet the needs of the described requirement are invited to provide a capabilities statement via e-mail. The Capability statements must include the following: 1. Company name and Point of Contact information 2. DUNS number 3. Small Business Size/Certification (to include 8(a), HUBZone, SDVOSB, etc.) 4. Proposed product Manufacturer name, part number and technical literature. Responses are due no later than 5:00 PM PT, Tuesday, November 6, 2018, and shall be electronically submitted to Don Richer at dricher@usbr.gov. All responses will be used to determine the appropriate acquisition strategy for a potential future acquisition. Response is strictly voluntary; no reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this synopsis or any follow-up information requests.
