Description
The Defense Logistics Agency-Aberdeen, on behalf of the Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM), intends to acquire Part Number: LBS-300-A2 to support the weapon systems. This is a Sources Sought/Request for Information for the potential requirement described below. Requirements Description: The Laser Borelight system is a critical component of the weapon system. The Laser Boresight System is a Class 9 laser that emits a highly collimated beam of visible light for precise zeroing of a sighting system to the bore of a weapon. The LBS can zero iron sights, optics and aiming devices to a variety of direct fire weapons. This system requires 1 "AA" battery. The LBS comes with mandrels sized to fit into the bore of any 5.56 mm, 7.62 mm, and.50 cal weapons. The LBS fires a visible laser out of the bore to show where the bore is pointing. Using this laser, the reticle or aiming point of the device to be zeroed can be adjusted to zero the device. Since the LBS is done at 10 m a specific offset is used to create a proper zero for more realistic distances. The offset is relative to the placement of the device to be zeroed and the height over bore. In addition, the LBS offers 3 Operational modes; (Goggle, Low, and Pulse) allowing for day and night operations and providing a Marksmanship Training capability. The Government does not possess the technical data package (TDP), detailed drawings and performance specifications for these items. This is not a developmental effort. Current designs have been approved by Product Manager - Soldier Precision Targeting Devices (PM-SPTD). Alternate designs must be approved by PM-SPTD. The following additional NAICS apply: 333314 The Government requires an estimated quantity of the following over 5 years: • Quantity: 2,500; Part Number: LBS-300-A2; (NSN: 5860-01-471-2091) Sensors and Lasers are considered defense unique technology due to the high quality and performance requirements and are covered by Occupational and Environmental Health: Control of Hazards to health from Laser Radiation. Requested Response Information: Sources that can manufacture and deliver the Laser Borelight System are requested to submit information to show their capability to manufacture or supply the Laser Borelight System. At a minimum, information submitted should include but is not limited to the following types of documentation: Questionnaire information on previous Government and commercial contracts, and data rights. In your response, please include your company name, CAGE code, and a technical point of contract with email address and telephone number. Notice, Response Due Date, and Points of Contact: This is NOT a Request for Quote or Proposal.
