- Description
- Drawings (DRAFT) SPECIAL NOTICE PURPOSE The purpose of this notice is to alert all interested, future offerors of a site visit. The purpose of this site visit is to ensure all contractors have an opportunity to visit the site in November 2018 in order to be prepared to submit a proposal in the spring of 2019 when the project site will not be accessible due to excessive snow and road closure. Contractors that visit the project site will be evaluated more favorably simply because they witnessed and evaluated the project site and clearly understand the risks associated with the site conditions. This understanding reduces the overall price and performance risk for the USDA Forest Service. PROJECT DESCRIPTION This project includes the removal of an existing boardwalk and underlying trail pavement surfacing and construction of the new boardwalk. Work will include pinned foundations, driven/drilled pile foundations, carpentry work, removal and disposal of existing boardwalk materials, and erosion and sediment control. Work will be conducted over a wetland landscape so work limits will be confined to the immediate vicinity of the boardwalk and any tracked/wheeled equipment utilized will have to operate from the boardwalk or other temporary structures.
