- NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE: Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division (NSWC IHEODTD), intends to award a firm fixed price sole source procurement with Micrometrics Instrument Corporation, 4356 Communications Drive, Norcross, GA 30093 to provide: CLIN 0001 Accupyc II 1340 Automatic Gas Pycnometer, 100-cm3 sample capacity Used for the determination of true volume and true density of solids and powders. Operation in either standalone configuration using internal computer and keypad, or controlled by a PC running optional Accupyc Windows® Software (Item #5 below.) Up to 5 additional analytical modules (Item #11 below) can be added to a single control module in either configuration. Accupyc II 1340 supports direct connection to a USB printer.  Sample cup inside dimensions: 46.4 mm diameter x 61.6 mm high  Guaranteed reproducibility to within  0.02% full scale volume  Transducer zeroing, calibration and operation are controlled by internal computer  Can be connected directly to analytical balance for transfer of sample mass without transcription error.  Programmable for automatic repeat measurements or for data acquisition under user-selected tolerances  User-programmable number of purges prior to analysis  ASCII output from serial port can be captured by computer and used as input to popular spreadsheet programs  1-, 10- and 350-cm3 sample capacity versions also available  Calibration volume sphere supplied is calibrated per NIST test no. 821/25B 592-97 and performed in accordance with requirements of ANSI/NCSL 2640-1-94 and ISO 10012-1-92. Copy of Certification of Calibration included. CLIN 0002 Installation and User Familiarization - (1-Day) US Optional CLIN 0003 Color Ink Jet Printer CLIN 0004 Multivolume Option Kit Volume inserts reduce 100-cc chamber to nominal 35-cc sample cup size (inside dimensions: 33.7 mm diameter x 34.6 mm high) or 10-cc sample cupsize (inside dimensions: 18.3 mm diameter x 36.0 mm high) CLIN 0005 Accupyc Filter Cap Kit 100cc Filter cap kit for fine powders prevents fluffy powders from fluidizing and blowing out of the cup during an analysis. CLIN 0006 Accupyc Filter Cap Kit 10cc Filter cap kit for fine powders prevents fluffy powders from fluidizing and blowing out of the cup during an analysis. CLIN 0007 Installation Qualification/Operational Qualification (IQ/OQ) IQ documentation is supplied in a standard (checklist) format and includes all items delivered and installed. OQ service uses primary standards for system validation to ensure accuracy and precision of the installed system. CLIN 0008 shipping charges The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334516, Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing, which has an annual size standard of 1000 employees. Interested vendors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) at https://www.sam.gov/portal/public/SAM/. The circumstances permitting Other Than Full and Open Competition is Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy Agency requirements." The intent of this synopsis is to determine if any sources exist, and therefore, no Request for Quote (RFQ) is available. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, all information received by 10/25/18 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon the responses received from this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
