- SOURCES SOUGHT: The Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 6 Network Contracting Office (NCO) is conducting Market Research through this sources sought to help determine the availability of qualified Businesses registered under NAICS code 541380 capable of performing environmental cultures of endoscope testing All specifications are attached below. If the contractor can perform the above service, the contractor shall provide a letter from the licensed service patent holder stating they are an authorized licenser of their testing services. Failure to submit an authorized distributor letter shall result in the product(s) potentially offered to be considered grey market and shall not be considered technically acceptable. The capability statements received from this market research are for planning purposes only and will assist the Government in planning its acquisition strategy. This is strictly market research and the Government will not entertain questions concerning this market research. The Government will not assume any costs incurred by the contractor in the preparation of responses. E-mail address: Nicholas.Ruppert@va.gov Performance location: VAMC Durham 508 Fulton Street Durham, NC 27705 Scope Culture STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW) as of 10/05/2018 Contract Title. Microbiology Environmental Scope Culture Contract Background/Dates of Service (Period of Performance). The Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center is requesting monthly environmental cultures of endoscopes, in accord with infection control and surveillance recommendations developed by The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and American Society for Microbiology (ASM). The objective of the surveillance cultures is to detect bacterial contamination that may be present on the endoscopes after appropriate reprocessing. This surveillance will help identify aberrations in endoscope reprocessing. Endoscope surveillance culturing requires specific resources, training, and expertise. The microbiology laboratory within the Richmond VA Medical Center does not have the certification required to process this endoscope cultures. The period of service requested is from October 1, 2018 through September 30, 2019 with Base + 1 Option Year. Scope. The Contractor shall provide all specimen collection materials and shipping materials to send specimens to the reference laboratory. The Contractor must also provide timely culture results (organism identification) to the Infection Control Department. Specific Tasks. The Vendor will provide the following services: Provide specimen collection kits with all necessary materials for appropriate collection per FDA standards including: Dey Engley Neutralization Broth - 45 mL Collection bottle Syringe 30 mL - 2 Swab Transfer pipette - 2 Ziploc specimen bag Parafilm Chain of Custody Ice pack Insulated box Discounted Fedex shipping label Run the diagnostic tests and provide results within 72 hours Results will be provided in email and phone call if results out of range.
