Description
Argonne National Laboratory is seeking sources to provide office space that will accommodate 50 to 80 individuals. Criteria for the space include: 1. Location preferably within six to eight miles from Argonne National Laboratory, 9700 South Cass Avenue, Lemont, IL. 2. 15 to 20 private/semi-private offices. 3. 45 to 60 office cubicles. 4. Offices, cubicles, etc., wired for data services. 5. Adequate parking. SECURITY CONSIDERATIONS Due to the value of government assets in the facility, a variety of security systems to include automated access controls, door alarms and interior intrusion/detection systems will be required as part of an integrated intrusion detection and assessment system. Argonne Security can work with respective facility representatives to develop appropriate solutions based on existing security infrastructure. Video Monitoring The tenant shall be allowed to modify the facility to install a minimum of 3 network-connected video surveillance cameras. This will involve the installation of a camera enclosure and cabling to deliver network and power to the installation location. Each camera shall be provided no less than 150Mbps in network bandwidth to provide live video to the Argonne campus. QoS provisions shall be provided such that video traffic is prioritized to allow real-time review. Entry Doors The main entry door shall be modified to allow the installation of card-based authentication of authorized personnel for entry. This may involve modification of the doorframe, door hardware, locks, exterior walls etc. in support of sensors, latches and releases. Installation of a cabinet, housing the authorization system, or cabling connecting the door control to the MDF may be required. Cabling shall be installed from the door control to the MDF for interconnection to the authorization system/server and connection to the tenant network. Physical Security Sensors The tenant shall be permitted to modify the facility to support the installation of security sensors, including but not limited to, magnetic switches on doors and windows, PIR (passive infrared), ultrasonic or microwave motion sensors, sound-based glass-break sensors, etc. These may be wired or wireless in nature. Installation of head-end nodes and support servers in MDF/IDF locations may also be required. Existing Alarm Panel Use If a security/alarm panel, and/or other security infrastructure is located within the facility, it shall be additionally connected to the tenant's network to provide monitoring access to Argonne's Security team. Given an agreement and documented MOU, such infrastructure may be jointly accessed by the facility and the tenant. Facility Provided PA The facility shall provide appropriate access to the internal/external PA system to announce emergencies and communicate with occupants of the facility. The system shall be accessible from within the facility to generate announcements and remotely by designated Argonne emergency personnel by either network or phone. Customer Provided PA If no PA system is available within the facility, the tenant shall be permitted to install equipment in the MDF to provide such service and to modify the facility to install speakers and establish cable infrastructure to connect speakers to the equipment in the MDF. The cable infrastructure may use existing wiring, or may be composed of newly installed cabling according to local code requirements. Speakers shall be installed to provide adequate coverage of announcements throughout the facility.
