Description

This is a SOURCES SOUGHT request for informational and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation or commitment by the Government at this time. This notice is intended strictly for market research. The purpose of this Sources Sought notice is to determine the following: The interest and capability of any vendors able to meet the requirements listed below; Size classification relative to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 325998 All Other Miscellaneous Chemical Product and Preparation Manufacturing for the proposed acquisition. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 10 is contemplating an Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with a base year and up to four option years. Contractor will provide up to 500 tons of road salt per year to the Battle Creek VA Medical Center located at 5500 Armstrong Road, Battle Creek, Michigan 49037 in accordance with the following requirements: Bulk Delivery within 24 hours of contact (deliveries will be accepted Monday through Friday 8am-1 pm). Each delivery will consist of 30 to 50 tons to the VA Salt Shed (building #199). Bill of Lading Receipt and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) will accompany every delivery unless otherwise directed by the Contracting Officer Representative (COR). Road Salt must be readily available at the beginning of November through April each year. Vendor shall follow all OSHA regulations associated with VAMC Chemical Inventories. Deliveries shall be in bulk via truck (bagged salt is not acceptable). Contact the Motor Operations Supervisor at 269-966-5600 x32781 or x33777 upon every delivery. No deliveries shall be implemented without the consent of the COR. Materials Guarantee. Contractor must guarantee quantity of materials will be available for this contract and will be delivered upon request throughout the year. Potential awardee shall be engaged in a business that regularly distributes bulk salt for road use throughout the winter, and stores/maintains sufficient quantities of bulk salt on their premises throughout the year to ensure timely delivery can be made.
