Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs-Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville, Kentucky intends to award a fixed price sole source to Mac Construction & Excavation for the emergency repair to address a drainage problem that has resulted in property damage to the vehicles of patients, employees, volunteers and visitors at the medical center. Work shall include providing all labor, material, equipment and expert supervision needed to add an overflow drain to the existing storm sewer to eliminate flood conditions. Work shall also include the installation of 12-inch PVC piping, demo, patching and repairing of asphalt. This is an emergency conditions and delay in award could result in serious consequences to the Robley Rex VA Medical Center. This is not a request for competitive proposals, and a competitive solicitation will not be issued. The sole source award to Mac Construction & Excavation is under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(2), as implemented by way of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-2 Unusual and Compelling Urgency.
