- Dayton Food Tray Delivery System Questions/Answers The following questions were submitted by potential contractors for the Dayton VA Medical Center Food Tray Delivery System Project. Answers to questions are highlighted below each question (Government). All questions were submitted by the deadline indicated in the solicitation. 1. Contractor Currently, the VA Dayton Medical Center is utilizing a divided tray. For preparation of our bid, could you please confirm the facilities preference on use of the tray for the new Retherm System as the retherm carts that will be submitted in our bid will be configured for the type of tray selected. Government Nutrition and Food Service preference is for divided tray. 2. Contractor Would the facility be interested in a retherm system that can be remote programmed and monitored from a computer located elsewhere on the campus i.e. Programming and monitoring from the Main Kitchen Office for units located in the main hospital or elsewhere on the campus? Government This option was not specified and does not fall within the SOW, and will not be considered as part of the LPTA determination. 3. Contractor What terms are required for the extended warranty listed in the bid? Government Extended Warranty would include (but is not limited to) a minimum of 1-year parts and labor coverage beyond the Standard Warranty. 4. Contractor (Contractor) is assuming that the current units are hardwired in from an electrical disconnect switch (please confirm). If so, will it be permissible for (Contractor) to replace the disconnect switch to a j-box and drop cord? (Contractor) will provide the material and labor to accomplish this. (Contractor) docking stations have a cord and plug configuration.? Government The contractor may install a junction box and needed connections after the disconnect. The disconnect must remain in place for safety of food service and maintenance personnel. 5. Contractor (Contractor) is assuming that any patching or painting where the existing docking stations (and their electrical circuits) are removed will be the responsibility of the facility. Please confirm. Government This should be a turnkey project, meaning that any needed drywall/paint repairs will be the responsibility of the contractor.
