Page 2 of 2 AMIA Corporate Membership Statement of Work 2018 AMIA Corporate Membership Statement of Work 2018 Page 1 of 2   Description of Service/Corporate Membership: The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Office of Health Informatics (OHI), requires a corporate membership to the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA). AMIA has a unique role in promoting the effective organization, analysis, management, and use of information in healthcare in support of patient care, public health, teaching, research, administration, and related policy. AMIA serves as the professional home for informaticians from a variety of disciplines. AMIA members advance the use of health information and communications technology in clinical care and clinical research, personal health management, public health and population health, and translational science with the ultimate objective of improving health. Through membership in the Industry Partnership Council (IPC), AMIA's Corporate Members have the opportunity for collaboration across agencies in the traditional spheres of academia and research, but also in applied aspects of the healthcare informatics field. Corporate membership also affords opportunities for involvement in AMIA's advocacy, strategy and public policy initiatives in this new and emerging field. The Academic Forum is a membership unit within AMIA dedicated to serving the needs of biomedical and health informatics training programs. The Academic Forum comprises informatics professionals responsible for the leadership and excellence of informatics training programs. Corporate membership in AMIA enables VA to issue AMIA 10x10 certificates to VA staff for completing the VA sponsored Health Informatics Certificate Program (AMIA 10x10). The VA 10x10 Course provides VA with a graduate school level health informatics survey course comparable to those offered at academic institutions. This benefit shall be available to any VA staff completing the program with no limitations on the number of certificates issued.   Period of Performance: 12 months after date of award, plus 3 option years.   Type of Order: Firm Fixed Price   Scope of Work:   The contractor shall provide AMIA Corporate membership to the Department of Veterans Affairs. The Corporate Membership should include: Individual role based memberships, the number and allocation to be at the discretion of the government Industry Partnership Council (IPC) Membership, Academic Forum Membership 10x10 Program Endorsement Staff Involvement in AMIA s advocacy, strategy and public policy initiatives Access to training programs for staff Full registrations for meetings and Symposia Discounts on AMIA programs and services, such as the Clinical Informatics Board Review Course (CIBRC)   Line Item l: AMIA Corporate Membership Membership to the Industry Partnership Council (IPC) Membership in the Academic Forum Issuance of AMIA 10x10 certificates to VA staff as identified by VA for completing the VA sponsored Health Informatics Certificate Program   Line Item 2: Individual Role based Memberships Minimum base level of 200 role-based memberships for VA personnel serving in informatics roles. The contractor shall also provide additional role based memberships at the discretion of the government for any individual contract year, or in individual units, when requested by VA at the quoted unit price Full Memberships shall be effective 1/1 through 12/31 for any individual contract year Members added 7/1 or later of any individual contract year will be priced at no more than half of the quoted annual membership price Individual role-based memberships can be reassigned, at the discretion of the government, at any point during the year as a result of retirement, resignation or change in role of the member Benefits of AMIA individual memberships will include: Discounts to AMIA meetings & education offerings CME/CE credit: Quarterly educational programs both online and in-person Free Webinars: AMIA Members enjoy access to timely, reliable presentations by expert speakers AMIA Knowledge Center: access to over 5000 documents of AMIA enduring content Subscription to JAMIA: AMIA s peer-reviewed scientific journal ePublications: weekly news about developments in the informatics community; occasional special announcements AMIA Connect Online Member Community: Network, communicate and share information through 25 Working Groups, Discussion Forums, Communities of Practice and leadership communities Mentorship Program: provides an opportunity to connect with experts in the field The services described herein address VA strategic goals, including enhanced employee engagement, and promote innovation and agile integration of technology into business operations. Exposure to leaders in the field of informatics and analytics enables rapid dissemination of best practices from internal and external sources and equips VA staff to utilize the latest technology, including cloud based analytics, throughout VA and delivery networks to better serve Veterans.
