Description

Notice of Intent to Sole Source The Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center, Research Department, 10701 East Blvd, Cleveland Ohio intends to negotiate on a sole-source basis with Motion Control Inc, exclusive US distributor of the Taska Hand. Motion Control is a small business entity, and award is being contemplated pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, for the procurement of the Taska Prosthetic Hand. The Taska Hand is being procured since it is a ruggedized, waterproof prosthetic hand with motorized thumb and is compatible with iSens System. This prosthetic hand is needed to continue VA research in sensory restoration for hand amputees, using peripheral nerve stimulation. The Taska Hand will be instrumented with custom sensors. This hand is being chosen for the take home sensory restoration system, robust enough to be used daily in a variety of activities, is waterproof, and has a motorized thumb. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
