Page 1 of 4 36C78619Q0011 Amendment 0002 Questions and Answers 1. Topic: Scope of Work Ref: PWS C. Specific Mandatory Tasks and PWS Attachment I Comment: The overall description of services mentions plant and tree maintenance, and Attachment I states, Camp Chase. Question: Please confirm plant and tree maintenance is not required at Dayton, and under which CLIN would the Government like this Camp Chase service to be priced? This requirement is only for Camp Chase. 2. Topic: Scope of Work Ref: PWS C. c) d) (2), Turf Maintenance, Dayton and Camp Chase; PWS Attachment E; and Camp Chase CLINs 0009 and 0010. Comment: The reference para (2) addressing both Dayton and Chase mentions aeration, overseeding and maintaining grade, while Attach E states Camp Chase Only. Question: Please confirm annual aeration and overseeding is not required at Dayton? This requirement is only for Camp Chase. 3. Topic: Scope of Work Ref: PWS C. c) b) and PWS d) (1) [Pages 2-3]; Quality Assurance Report (QAR) Comments: The first reference states the contractor is responsible for sweeping roads and sidewalks, while the second reference does not specify this requirement. We recognize the cleanup responsibilities associated with each mowing and trimming event. Question: Can the government please confirm if additional sweeping roads and sidewalks services are required (beyond mow-trim events), and if so, the desired frequency and associated CLIN for pricing? There are no additional sweeping road and sidewalks required. This only applies to responsibilities associated with each mow/trim event. 4. Topic: Workload Analysis Camp Chase Cleanup Ref: CLIN 0013, PWS Attachment I, PRS 6) (page 47) Comment: The reference CLIN is for 52 jobs/events to include storm cleanup (PWS Attachment I, Para B.5; however, NCA Standards (PWS Attachment I, Para B.1.) call for cleanup a minimum of each workday or as necessary. Question: Please clarify the cleanup requirements and expectations (e.g. frequency daily or weekly) for Camp Chase cleanup responsibilities. 52 jobs/events are accurate. 5. Topic: Edging Ref: CLINs 0003 and 0018 Question: Could the Government provide total linear footage for CLINS 0003 and 0018? CLIN 0003 Sidewalk at Camp Chase is approximately 460 feet long. CLIN 0018 This CLIN will be amended to separate edging of flat markers and edging of walks and curbs. Overall linear footage for walks at Dayton is 3,351. 6. Topic: Mulching Ref: CLIN 0011 Question: Could the Government provide total square footage for CLIN 0011? There are 2 beds at Camp Chase. Each bed is approximately 60 square feet. 7. Topic: Gophers and Moles Ref: PWS, Page 20. Comment: Pest control of Gophers and Moles is included in the PWS, however there is no CLIN that includes this service. Question: Under which CLIN would the Government like this service to be priced? This service is not needed. 8. Topic: Shrub Maintenance Ref: PWS, Page 25. Question: Can the Government provide species/size/count for shrubs to be maintained at Camp Chase? At Camp Chase Cemetery There are two beds of contiguous juniper shrubbery, one on each side of the entrance gate. Each bed is approximately 15 ft. long X 4 ft. deep. 9. Topic: Snow and Ice Removal Ref: PWS, Pages 32 and 39; CLIN 0014 Questions: Can the Government provide total linear feet of sidewalks and steps to be cleared during snow and ice removal? Is the contractor responsible for clearing roadways? If so, what is the total linear feet to be cleared? At Dayton National Cemetery No snow and ice removal. At Camp Chase Cemetery The only sidewalk is the public sidewalk along the front perimeter wall on Sullivant Ave. That sidewalk is approximately 460 ft. long. There are three steps from the sidewalk up to the entrance gate. There are no roadways. 10. Topic: Dayton National Cemetery Acreage Question: Can the government please provide acreage of areas with gravesites and acreage of areas without gravesites? At Dayton National Cemetery - Acreage of turf areas with gravesites: 84 acres Acreage of turf areas without gravesites: 22 acres Total turf acreage: 106 11. Topic: Camp Chase Headstone Cleaning and Routine Alignment Can the government provide the quantity of headstones to receive this service with each job? At Camp Chase Cemetery - Headstone cleaning: all 2,187 headstones, 2X each year Headstone fine-tune-and-align: all 2,187 headstones, 2X each year Headstone raise-and-realign: 50 headstones each year 12. Topic: Dayton Irrigation System Startup and Shutdown Ref: CLINS 0013 and 0014 Question: Can the government please provide the total zone and irrigation headcount? There are 316 zones and 1,604 heads. 13) CLIN # 1002 How many upright stones and flat stone markers are to be trimmed at Camp Chase? 2,187 headstones No Flat Markers 14) CLIN # 1003 How many Linear feet of curb line and walk ways are to be edged? Camp Chase Sidewalk is approximately 460 feet long Dayton Overall linear footage for walks is 3,351, There is 30,346 linear feet of curb line 15) CLIN # 1011 Historically how many yards of mulch is used to mulch all areas at Camp Chase. There are two beds of contiguous juniper shrubbery, one on each side of the entrance gate. Each bed is approximately 15 ft. long X 4 ft. deep. 16) Clin # 0017 How many headstones are to be trimmed at Dayton National Cemetery. Dayton has 48,855 occupied gravesites as of Jul 31, 2018. Of those, 38,959 are upright headstones, and 9,896 are a mixture of flat bronze, flat granite, and flat marble. The flat markers need edged around.   17) In the PWS C.k.a states Contractor personnel shall not operate motorized equipment or conduct other commercial activities during interment services. Is this to assume that work can not be performed in the cemetery during interment services, or will this be only for a designated area? What is the average # of interments weekly at each cemetery at Dayton National Cemetery? This applies to areas in close proximity to the committal shelters during burial services. If the equipment can be heard at the shelters, work can continue in another area. 18) How many burial sections are there in each cemetery? Camp Chase 2, Dayton 64 including the columbarium 19) Attachment F C.2.f. states that rear discharge mowers are to be used. Can a side discharge deck with a mulching kit and cap be used? Yes 20. Offer due date REMAINS September 21, 2018 at 12;00 noon. 21. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.
