Description
2018 Air Force Global Strike Command Innovation Summit Series--Nuclear and Airfield Security Challenges and Concepts Workshop #1 Mark your calendars and don't miss the first in a series of Air Force Global Strike Command's two Nuclear and Airfield Security Workshops in the fall of 2018 and spring of 2019! This technology engagement is seeking senior-level technical participants from industry and academic research organizations. Industry includes both large and small businesses, and the academic community includes all government sponsored and public/private institutes of higher learning. The 2018 Nuclear and Airfield Security (N&AS) Challenges and Concepts Workshop #1 is the first of two workshops in the Nuclear Deterrence Operations Innovation Summit series. The primary purpose of this workshop series is to allow communication between AFGSC and other Air Force and DoD partners, industry, academia, and trusted partners (Federally Funded Research and Development Centers (FFRDCs) and University Affiliated Research Centers (UARCs)) on the topic of N&AS updates and potential technology options. These events will help shape non-DoD investments and bring needed technology options to address DoD N&AS challenges. Workshop #1 is a two-day event that will occur at the Cyber Innovation Center (6300 East Texas Street, Bossier City, Louisiana) and allows the opportunity for senior government leaders and officials to provide relevant updates and information to interested industry contractors, program managers, and experts at the Secret level. Workshop #1 will establish an information baseline through government briefings concerning N&AS status as well as current and future technical challenges. Question and answer sessions are included at the end of each brief to allow industry, academia, and trusted partner (non-DOD) attendees to ask questions for clarification or further explore the topic information from the event. Workshop #2 (spring 2019) in this Innovational Summit series will provide an opportunity for non-government organizations to submit white papers and possibly be selected to return to AFGSC and brief future technology options to address challenges discussed during Workshop #1. Additional details concerning Workshop #2 will be provided in a follow-on FBO announcement.
