- Past Performance Survey (optional use) Plans-Drawings, Saddle, Smith Special Project Specifications, Saddle, Smith RFQ Solicitation Bonners Ferry Ranger District, IPNF, Saddle Creek Road Reconstruction and Smith Creek Road Milling project consists of the removal and replacement of 5 culverts and reconstruction of approximately 0.27 miles of road 2455 Saddle Creek. The culverts are located on Saddle Creek road FSR 2455 on the Bonners Ferry Ranger District. All locations will involve excavation, removal and proper disposal of existing culverts. In place of the old culverts, new culverts will be placed. Additionally, bedding material will be obtained from a commercial source and compacted around the culvert. Government source pitrun will be placed to fill in the washouts. Commercial source surfacing material will be hauled and placed, to re-establish the road surface. Once the roadway has been re-established, the culverts will be armored at the inlet and outlet with Government Source Riprap material. Additional Commercial Source riprap material will be placed at the toe of the slope to stabilize and hold the shoulder in place. The second part of this project is Road Reconditioning and road milling 6.12 miles of BST pavement, placing a small amount of aggregate where needed, placement of calcium chloride, blading, watering and rolling the road. Smith Creek Road Milling - Forest Service Road #281 can be accessed from Bonners Ferry by taking HWY 95 North for approx. 14.8 miles and left onto HWY 1 North approx. 2.2 miles to Copeland. Turn left and take Copeland road approx 1.7 miles turn right onto West Side road for approx. 10. 9 miles. Turn Left on road FSR 281 Smith Creek, veer left at Y intersect to Milepost 0.00, beginning of the Smith Creek project. Coordinates NAD 83 N 48° 58' 40" W 116° 33' 40" T. 65 N., R. 2 W., BM Saddle Creek Road Reconstruction - Forest Service Road #2455 Saddle Creek travel 9.1 miles on Smith Creek road 281, turn right at Saddle Pass road for 0.6 miles, turn left for 2.9 miles, slight left 0.4 miles, continue on Saddle Pass Road for 0.9 miles, Keep left for 0.9 miles, continue straight for 0.9 miles, sharp right 0.6 miles, Turn left onto Saddle Pass Road for 0.5 miles, beginning of project. NAD 83 N 48° 58' 34" W 116° 42' 48" Section 22 T. 65 N., R. 3 W., BM Price range between $100,000 and $250,000. Estimated start date June 2019 with 60 days contract time.
