Description
Description(s): Market Research and Sources Sought Notice for information on capability and availability of potential contractors to perform dredging and beach nourishment in open waters up to the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) in Alabama Waters, Mississippi Waters and U.S. Waters south of Alabama and Mississippi for implementation of the Mississippi Barrier Island Restoration, Mississippi. This is a SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS and is not a solicitation announcement. The purpose of this Market Research and Sources Sought Notice is to gain knowledge of potential qualified Small Business firms who own ocean certified dredges (as would normally be expected to support a large dredging operation) to perform the work specified below. Responses to this Sources Sought Synopsis will be used by the government in making appropriate acquisition decisions. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, anticipates future procurements in fiscal year 2019 for the unit price of dredging and construction equipment to perform dredging actions that will retrieve sand material from designated open water borrow areas located approximately 2 to 35 miles away in the Gulf of Mexico for beach nourishment of Ship Island, Mississippi. These future requirements for unit price dredging equipment will be for different size categories of dredges and for different types of dredges as described below. One requirement will be for hydraulic, cutterhead dredges with a minimum pump discharge diameter of 27 through 30 inches measured as the inside diameter of the discharge side of the main dredge pump and a minimum horsepower applied to the main pump of 3750/5000 respectively. A second requirement will be for trailing suction hopper dredges with a minimum hopper capacity of 3600 cubic yards. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (04-SEP-2018); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE. PLEASE CONTACT 877-472-3779 or fbo.support@gsa.gov REGARDING THIS ISSUE.
