Description

The Kansas City VA Medical Center (KCVAMC) is looking to procure clinical benchtop centrifuge which is necessary for implementation of thin layer cell preparation system for body fluid samples on microscope slides. The centrifuge must allow one-hand opening and closing, and is able to process 12 specimens at one time. It also allows the technician to see the tubes through an open window. This solicitation uses a Brand Name or Equal Description of the product required. This permits prospective contractors to offer products other than those specifically referenced by brand name (Thermo Scientific Shandon CytoSpin 4 Cytocentrifuge). GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Slide capacity 1 to 12 slides Ability to perform concentrate samples in 7-10 minutes Standard chambers with single and dual configurations Large capacity sample chamber that could handle sample volumes up to 6 mL Rotor speed between 100 to 2000 rpm. Power - 110-240 Volt, 50/60 Hz; 85 watts maximum User programmability Ability to store frequently used combinations of rotation speed (100-2000 rpm), Run time (1-99 minutes), and rotor acceleration Lid Interlock Audible alarm feature Must use disposable sample chambers with caps
