Manufacturers Name: ____________________________________________________________________________. Brand: _______________________________________________________________________ Model No.:____________________________________________________________________ Statement of Work Client The Corporal Michael J Crescenz VAMC Job Name MRI Breast and Knee Coils Requested by Diagnostic Imaging/MRI Summary The Corporal Michael J. Crescenz VAMC MRI Department is in need of 2 coils for the second MRI machine. MRI coils help the MR machine gather high-quality images of a specific body part and they are essential in generating images. The coil is simply the piece that makes the pictures for the MRI. The MRI department currently has one Knee Coil and one Breast Coil but they have two MRI machines. If two patients present at the same time for the same study that requires the same coil, they have to wait until that coil becomes available for the technologist to use, even though there are two MRI units. These coils are also interchangeable so they will act as backups to each other. This is just in case one set of coil goes down for maintenance or is in need of repair, the department will not have to cancel/reschedule any exams. Having a second set of the breast coil and knee coil will definitely improve timeliness and access to care in the department. Also, the patient satisfaction of not having to wait around until another patient is done their exam so the technologist can use that coil plays an important part in this procurement as well.
