Description
This notice is not a solicitation. This announcement serves as a sources sought notice for a mid-infared camera for the Air Force Academy. This Sources Sought Notice is issued for the purpose of market research in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 10 to determine if there is a mid-infrared camera that meet the specifications below and the Buy American Act at DFARS 225.225-7001. All businesses capable of providing a mid-infared camera are invited to respond. Any information provided by industry to the Government as a result of this sources sought synopsis is voluntary. The Government will not pay for any information submitted in response to this sources sought synopsis. 10 CONS/ PKC is seeking potential sources who manufacture a mid-infrared cameras that are Buy American compliant IAW DFARS 252.225-7001 are considered commercially off-the-shelf items (COTS). The applicable NAICS Code is 334516. The size standard is 1,000 employees. All items and components must be made and manufactured in accordance with DFARS 252-225-7001, Buy American Act and Balance of Payments Program. U.S. Air Force Academy mid-infared camera requirements: The Physics department has a requirement to purchase a mid-infrared camera for use in experiments in nuclear physics for analysis of thermally.-flashed F-16 skin coupons. This system must have good resolution in the mid-infrared band (2-5 microns) and a variable focus lens. The system must include the camera body, lens, and associated software that can provide temperature and emissivity data from unknown samples. Cadets and faculty will use this camera system to analyze the infrared profile and emissivity of heated F-16 paint coupons that have been thermally-flashed by simulated nuclear weapon output. This new system will also allow the camera to be installed in AFIT's wind tunnel for in situ experiments. The purchase of this camera system will enhance the current capabilities of the Laser and Optics Research Center and present more research opportunities for cadets and faculty working within the Nuclear Enterprise. Requirements for mid-infrared camera system include: • Cooled Indium Antimonite (InSb) detector • 640 by 512 pixel detector area • 3 to 5 micron wavelength • 30 Hz or better video rate • Variable focus from infinity to several inches • USB for power and data connections • Compact weight, < 1 kg " Software to display infrared color maps, temperature, and emissivity of paint coupons Quantity: 1 Delivery is FOB Destination to USAF Academy, CO 80840. Comments and/or suggestions on the specifications are encouraged and can be included in your capabilities package. Interested businesses shall provide the following information: 1. Business size status in relationship to the small business threshold of 750 employees and socio-economic status, e.g., 8(a), Woman Owned or Service Disabled Veteran-Owned, small business, large business, etc. 3. Answers to the following questions: (include questions below as applicable, otherwise delete. Add any questions specific to the acquisition not included below). a. Are you a manufacturer or supplier of the items? b. What is your lead-time for delivery for each item? c. What are your payment/discount terms? d. What are the term of your warranty?
