Description

INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE The purpose of this special notice is to provide the intent to sole source to Duke University Medical Center for phenotyping services at its facility. This is essential for the research that is funded by our VA Merit Review Grant, Regulation of Intestinal Inflammation by LRGM1. The Duke breeding colony generates and maintains mice under specific pathogen free conditions. This is not true in the Durham VA animal facility, where mice are endemically infected with norovirus and helicobacter. Furthermore, the facility has mouse lines of interest at the Duke breeding colony, which are actively being generated there. In effect, the Duke breeding colony is a unique resource that is essential to complete the specific aims of the facilities sponsored research projects. The government intends to award a firm-fixed price (FFP) award with a period of performance of September 1, 2018 August 31, 2019. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 611310: Colleges, Universities, and Professional Schools with a standard size of $27.5 Million. This notice of intent is not a solicitation. Information submitted in response to this notice will be used solely to determine whether competitive procedures could be used for this acquisition. If competitive procedures are not used it is estimated that an award will be issued by 8/31/2018. Any questions regarding this notice must be submitted in writing via email to wayne.neyland@va.gov. All responses to this notice of intent must be submitted so that they are received at wayne.neyland@va.gov no later than 5:00 pm Eastern 8/31/2018.
