- Description
- Bronx VA Research Department requires the purchase of a Life Technologies, Attune NXT equipment. This equipment will be used in support of ongoing research programs and to enhance and extend research at the VA Bronx Healthcare System. There are currently three VA-approved research studies that will utilize this device; one is entitled PTH and related molecules for understanding and treating diseases of bone loss and the study research protocol # is TAW-16-013, a second entitled Bone anabolic approach for treatment of bone loss in spinal cord injury and its protocol # is TAW-15-021, and a third entitled Role of T cells in bone loss after spinal cord injury and the study research protocol # is TAW-16-062. Also, any future blood, immunology, or additional bone or other relevant studies will also use this analyzer equipment after approval of the research protocol by VA. The required equipment includes the following: Attune ® NXT acoustic focusing cytometer Attune autosampler system An extended warranty (attune 2 laser 1PM) Attune NXT 1 license SW kit Smart Start, Attune, 2-day, set-up and training Salient Features: It is required that the system including a flat top laser minimizing the need for laser alignment on a regular basis and highly engineering pumps and valves to deliver top performance reliably. A small benchtop cytometer is required, that has the power of a larger model. The system must have detection of up to 9 parameters (7 colors and cell size and shape scatter features) and allows lasers total upgrades (i.e. more color analysis) if needed in the future. The system must provide for optional use of a plate handler (Attune Autosampler) that can handle 96 or 384 samples in well plates, including deep well plates. The software must allow for the switch between tubes and plates in seconds with no hardware changes to allow scientists to work on other projects while the plates run and data is collected. The system must have the ability to focus analyzed cells using acoustics technology, which will allow the rapid analysis of the sample at rates of up to 1mL/minute without losing data integrity driving science by interrogating rare events that are impossible to detect and collect on a traditional hydrodynamic cytometer in minutes. This will enable investigators to find unique targets and cell types in their work driving discovery to a new level. The system must have the ability to handle difficult samples including samples from primary tumors, organs, and whole blood. This system must be engineered to be clog resistant and allows for no wash/no lyse applications to minimize sample preparation and impact of handling on precious samples. The software package must be easy to use, allowing for quick template set up and for analysis by heat maps graphing of results. This is not a solicitation announcement. This is a sources sought synopsis only. The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification (large business, small business, 8(a), SDVOSB, etc.), relative to NAICS code 334516. Responses to this synopsis will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. Based on responses to this synopsis, the Government may issue this RFQ as a Brand Name or Equal requirement in accordance with VAAR Clause 852.211-73 on eBuy or Fed Biz Ops.
