Description

The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Eastern Acquisition Division-Kansas City office intends to award, on a sole source basis, under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with Symphotic TII Corporation for accessories for previously purchased remotely operated submersible vehicle for the NOAA Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory (GLERL) located in Ann Arbor, MI. A Sources Sought notice was posted on the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website on July 19, 2018 and closed on July 26, 2018. No responses were received. Justification for Sole Source The requested supplies are manufactured solely by Symphotic TII Corporation b ased on the accessories are purpose built and specifically designed to be integrated with the remotely operated submersible vehicle that was acquired by the government under a previous purchase order. Additionally installation of third party accessories would void the warranty for the remotely operated submersible vehicle currently owned by NOAA/GLERL.
