- DoD Needs Statement Mod 2 changes the deadline for submission from 24 August 2018 to 30 Aug 2018. DoD Needs Statement The Department of Defense Rapid Reaction Technology Office (RRTO) Innovation Outreach Program will partner with other government entities to conduct a Capability Assessment Event in the National Capital Region in Fall/Winter 2018. The Capability Assessment Event provides selected innovative companies with an opportunity to make short technical presentations to government representatives about their technologies and products. There is potential that companies may be selected for pilot projects or experimentation if their technology appears to match the needs described below. The Department of Defense is looking for innovative technologies and capabilities in the following topic areas (candidate technology can be a stand-alone system or a potential component of a system): Anomaly Detection •Electromagnetic detection and characterization •Internet of Things exploitation •Pattern of life indicators •Unintended radiated emissions Sensors •Energy usage monitoring •Environmental Sensors oTrace volatile organic compound detection and characterization oBiological threat detection and characterization oInnovative olfactory-based detection oUnderwater sample collection, detection, and identification •Magnetometers •Sensors for Canine Operations oMicroelectronics oHandler / canine communications oSituational awareness enhancement •Through-wall imaging technology Small Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) Technologies •Ground sample collection systems •High precision sensor emplacement technology •Low acoustic signature systems •Measurement and signature intelligence (MASINT) systems Companies interested in participating in the Capability Assessment Event should submit an application to RRTO Innovation via e-mail to osd.pentagon.ousd-atl.mbx.rrto-innovation@mail.mil. The following information is required in the application (Note: Only 1 application is permitted per company): 1.Email subject line "DoD Capability Assessment Event Application" 2.Company name 3.Website address 4.POC, email, phone number and an alternate POC if desired 5.A succinct description (less than 100 words in length) of the one technology that the company plans to discuss if they are selected to present at the CAE. This description should be all about the technology/capability, and should not include a description of the company 6.Select the one technology area (the bolded technology areas) that your technology BEST fits. Do not list multiple technology areas. All applications must be received on or before 5:00 PM EDT, August 30, 2018. Submission of an application does not guarantee an invitation to the Capability Assessment Event. Selected companies will be responsible for their travel and all other expenses associated with participation in the Capability Assessment Event.
