NIST desires the fabrication of aluminum parts to make a low field MRI system at 10 mT. These parts will provide the hardware interface for winging the magnet wire as well as attachement points for other necessary hardware. NIST in collaboration with the Department of Energy, Texas A&M, and Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging, will use this system to study root growth in plants to improve crop breeding decisions. Specifications: Item 1: Backing Flange Details: 1.NIST provided drawings for necessary fabrication. Solid model files can be made available upon request. 2.NIST will provide ½" 6061 aluminum plate for fabrication 3.Tolerances can be +/- 0.01" even though drawings contain positions to 3 decimal places 4.Quantity required: 2 5.Backing flange must be fabricated out of a single piece of aluminum. Flange cannot be fabricated out of smaller parts and then welded together. 6.Final items should be delivered to NIST Boulder Building 81. Loading dock will be available. Item 2: Flanged Ring Details: 1.NIST provided drawings for necessary fabrication. Solid model files can be made available upon request. 2.NIST will provide ½" 6061 aluminum plate for fabrication of part of the flanged ring if desired. 3.Tolerances can be +/- 0.01" even though drawings contain positions to 3 decimal places 4.Quantity required: 2 5.Final items should be delivered to NIST Boulder Building 81.
