Description
FINAL NOTICE For those who have registered for the event through Eventbrite and have been vetted through security, they will receive a Welcome Package prior to close of business today 20 August 2018. This message will confirm attendance for the event. If you are not registered for the event (received a confirmation email and number from Eventbrite) and have not confirmed you have an active DoD CAC or submitted a SECNAV Form 5512-1, you may be turned away at the gate and will not be able to participate in the event. While the event will not be broadcast, presentations will be posted after the event and notice of where they may be obtained will be posted to FBO and SeaPort. Attendee sign-in begins at 700am and briefings begin at 830am. Parking is not available at the Navy Yard for attendees of the event. There is metered street parking on a first-come, first-serve basis, and the Navy Yard and Eastern Market metro lines are within walking distance. ***Please note that laptops and tablets are NOT allowed at the event.*** ------------------------ AMENDMENT 2 ------------------------ An updated Q&A has been posted. If you have not yet submitted your SECNAV Form 5512-1 or confirmed you have an active DoD CAC and security clearance, please do so at this time. As stated in the announcement letter, tickets are not transferrable. THE CONTENTS OF THE NOTICE ARE ALSO PROVIDED BELOW.** The Naval Sea System Command (NAVSEA) is pleased to announce its 2018 Small Business Industry Day (SBID) at the Washington Navy Yard, Building 197, Aug 21 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Check in at NAVSEA begins at 7 a.m. BACKGROUND: NAVSEA is the largest of the Navy's five system commands. With a fiscal year budget of nearly $30 billion, NAVSEA accounts for one quarter of the Navy's entire budget. The NAVSEA SBID will provide a targeted forum for interested small businesses to hear from senior Navy leadership and Program Executive Offices (PEO's) about various NAVSEA programs, facilitating an enhanced understanding of NAVSEA's programs and strategic direction and providing for prime and subcontracting opportunities for small businesses. In addition, the SBID will provide a venue for large businesses to communicate about subcontracting opportunities in a panel format. CONTACT: Question(s) about the NAVSEA Industry Day can be submitted via email to NSSC-NAVSEA-SBID.fct@navy.mil by 10 Aug 2018. ELIGIBILITY : Attendance is limited to two representatives per organization. This is small business event open only to small businesses as described in the Small Business Administration (SBA) Table of Size Standards for the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code(s) shown in the table below. The intent of these briefings is to create an enhanced understanding of NAVSEA's programs and strategic direction that provide prime and subcontracting opportunities for small businesses. The SBID will also host a panel discussion with industry representatives from NAVSEA's Prime contractors on their subcontracting opportunities. Forum presentations will be available after the event on the NAVSEA website under the Business Partnership section at http://www.navsea.navy.mil/BusinessPartnerships. Please note that this website will also provide other resources relevant to small businesses, that include an updated version of NAVSEA's Long Range Acquisition Forecast. REGISTRATION: Interested parties must register directly at https://navseasbid2018.eventbrite.com, and use the password "NAVSEASBID2018" to access the registration portal. Provide the company name as well as the name of the representatives attending (maximum of two). Representatives registered who do not currently hold/will not hold at the time of the event a DoD Common Access Card (CAC), Rapid Gate Card, Retired Military ID or Personal Identity Verification (PIV), a SECNAV Form 5512-1 will need to be completed and submitted using the instructions below. After security documents have been received and reviewed, NAVSEA will notify individuals of their eligibility status for attendance and issue tickets. Tickets are not transferrable and will be required at the Washington Navy Yard gate in order to gain access to the installation and attend the event. All visitors must have a photo ID to enter the Washington Navy Yard. Visitors without a DoD CAC or military ID, but have been previously vetted, may enter the Navy Yard at any open gate by providing the gate guard a photo ID and the name of the event. SPECIAL NOTES: •(1) The Government will not reimburse participants for any expenses associated with their travel or participation in this event. •(2) Parking on the Washington Navy Yard will not be provided. •(3) Attendance is limited and will only be available through the above registration site on a first-come, first-serve basis. Early registration is required. Walk-on guests will NOT be granted access to the event. •(4) Tickets are not transferrable and must be presented at the Washington Navy Yard gate to gain access to the installation and attend the event. INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMITTING THE SECNAV FORM 5512-1: Attendees with No Security Clearance: Please complete the attached SECNAV form 5512/1, return the completed form to: https://safe.amrdec.army.mil/SAFE/Welcome.aspx for access onto the installation by close of business 16 August 2018. Upload and send completed forms by following these steps: 1. Click https://safe.amrdec.army.mil/SAFE/Welcome.aspx 2. Click "Ok". 3. Click the applicable button under "CAC Users" or "Non-CAC Users". 4. Complete the "Personal Information Section" as directed. 5. Attach the completed SECNAV form 5512/1 in the "File Information" section by using the "Browse" button. 6. Check the "Privacy Act Data" box located next to the form when the file is attached. 7. Enter "COMPLETED SECNAV 5512/1 FORM" in the "Description of File(s)" section. 8. Add the following email address NSSC-NAVSEA-SBID.fct@navy.mil in the "Recipient Information" section and click the "Add" button. 9. Under "Email Settings" check the "Encrypt email message when possible" box. 10. Click the "Upload" button. 11. Click the "I Agree" button. 12. You will receive an email from SAFE.Team@amrdec.army.mil. Follow the directions to verify your email address and send your form.
