- Scope of Work Solicitation W912P518T0073 This is a Solicitation Notice, Request for Quote (RFQ) for construction to perform welding repairs to the cast iron base of the Miter Gate Sector Gear at Cheatham Lock, located near Ashland City, TN 37015. This procurement falls under NAICS code 238190 (Other Foundation, Structure, and Building Exterior Contractors). PROJECT SCOPE: The scope of the proposed project consists of all necessary labor, material, and equipment necessary to conduct Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) to the existing cast iron base stiffeners and repair cracks. The repair method for the stiffener cracks shall be metal stitching type in the existing crack profile. The crack repair must meet or exceed the material strength of ASTM A48 Class 50. There are a total of 3 cracks. Two in the land side machinery frame stiffeners and one in the river side machinery stiffener. The cracks are about 6 inches long through a 2 inch thick stiffener. TYPE OF PROJECT: Firm Fixed-Price Construction Contract. MAGNITUDE OF THE PROJECT: Between $25,000 and $100,000. TYPE OF SET-ASIDE: This is a Total Small Business Set-Aside. PRE-AWARD SITE VISIT: An organized site visit has been scheduled to occur during the solicitation period. Quoters should inspect the job site prior to submitting a quote. Quoters should take such other steps as may be reasonably necessary to ascertain the nature and location of the work and the general and local conditions that can affect the work or the cost thereof. Failure to do so will not relieve quoters from the responsibility for properly estimating the difficulty or cost of successfully performing the work. The Government assumes no responsibility for any understanding or representations concerning conditions made by any of its officers, agents or employees, unless included in the solicitation, the specifications or related documents. An organized site visit is scheduled for 23 August 2018, 10:00 a.m. local time (Central Time Zone) Participants will meet at: Cheatham Lock, 1799 Cheatham Dam Road, Ashland City, TN 37015. Registration and background checks will be required for the site visit, using the forms attached to this notice. Further details are provided in the solicitation attached to this notice. This will be the only guided site visit for this project. If you miss the scheduled site visit, no other arrangements will be made due to personnel and time restrictions.
