Description
The USDA ARS - WBSC intends to award a sole source Firm Fixed Purchase Order (PO) to CPM ACQUISITION CORP, 1114 East Wabash Ave, Crawfordsville, IN, 47933. This order will purchase a California Pellet Mill (CPM), PMCL3 Lab Pellet Mill & Associated Components in support of the ongoing research at USDA ARS, Eastern Oregon Agricultural Research (EOARC), 6786-A Hwy #205, BURNS, CO 97720-9803. The Firm Fixed PO will include the following: 1. CALIFORNIA PELLET MILL (CPM), PMCL3 LAB Purpose: The CPM CL3 Laboratory Pellet Mill is used for small batched of product to be pelleted. The die is 5 inches in diameter & 1 inch wide providing 15.7 square inches of pelleting surface. Dies can supply various hole diameters, depending on the product & desired pellet diameter. Associated Components: 2. CPM CL3 LABORATORY FEEDER FOR 60HZ ELECTRICAL NEMA 12 ENCLOSURE 3. CPM TOOL KIT 4. CPM SPARE 5/16" C+ DIE, LD OF 4 & 5, CPM DIE 5. CPM SPARE 7/32" C+ DIE, LD OF 3 & 4, CPM DIE 6. CPM SPARE 1/2" C+ DIE, LD OF 4, CPM DIE USDA ARS, EOARC research has an essential requirement to purchase CPM CL3 Laboratory Pellet Mill, which will support the development of scalable production processes with a minimum production capacity of fifty pounds per hour. The pellet mill must be adaptable to current laboratory space and safety system infrastructure located in EOARC Lab in Burns, CO. California Pellet Mill is the sole manufacturer and seller of a laboratory grade pellet mill and dies which meets production specifications for scalability of experimental processes to production processes and is adaptable to USDA ARS, EOARC current laboratory space and safety system infrastructure. The origin of CPM can be traced back to California's Napa Valley, where, in 1883, the Toulouse & Delorieux Co. manufactured presses, crushers and stemmers for winemakers. In 1931, the company created the first pellet mill, the 30 HP Flat Bed with stationary flat die, and we became California Pellet Mill (CPM). In the years that followed, CPM created more pellet mill models with additional features. In the 1980s, they greatly expanded their product offerings through the creation of Roskamp Champion with the acquisition of the Roskamp Roller Mill Company and Champion Hammermills. In 2002, Beta Raven, a leading supplier of feed mill automation and ingredient scaling systems, joined their team. With facilities around the globe, CPM sell and service machinery and equipment in Europe, Asia, Latin America, North America and other parts of the world. CPM are the world's leading supplier of process equipment to the animal feed and the oilseed processing industries. CPM also serve the corn wet milling, pet food, ethanol and wood industries, and they are the world leader in pelleting, particle size reduction equipment and automation. Pursuant to the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The award date will be on or about August 28, 2018; and this Notice of Intent is not considered as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) nor is it a Request for Proposals (RFP). No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. A determination, by the Government, to compete this proposed PO based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government will consider all responses received by 10:30AM PST, August 27, 2018. Information received will be considered solely for determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
