- J & A for Sole Source The United States Department Of Naval Medical Research Center(NMRC) intends to award a sole source contract, The McConnell Group, Inc. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals however If interested, Government shall consider all responses. Biomedical equipment maintenance is a function designated to furnish geographic medical/dental maintenance and repair support and, as such, should be organized to maximize available resources. Biomedical is to promote the safe and effective care and use of medical/dental equipment, and follow standard operating procedures to efficiently use all maintenance and repair resources. The Biomedical Technician (BMET) is to maintain an equipment maintenance program based on NAVMEDLOGCOM's established class risk assessment and maintenance plans. The BMET will provide technical review of all requests for contracted medical and dental equipment maintenance. Monitor manufacturer and/or vendor warranties and maintenance agreements. Inspect and document the performances of all medical/dental maintenance to verify that the services provided conform to the contract or warranty agreement. The BMET will be appointed (with no inherently government functions) to the following committees: Equipment Program Review Committee and the Risk Management/Safety Committee. The BMET serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) relating to biomedical related issues, for NMRC and its subordinate laboratories. The BMET will support maintenance for the Naval Medical Research Center Silver Spring, Fort Detrick (BORD), and Rockville (Bone Marrow). T he Biosurety Administration supports compliance with all Federal, State and local regulations involving all Biological Select Agent/Toxin (BSAT) work performed within the Biological Defense Research Directorate at Naval Medical Research Center (NMRC)- Frederick. The Biosurety Administrator will provide direct support to NMRC Biosurety Manager and is considered key personnel. Physical location of the work environment for this position is at NMRC-Frederick located on the National lnteragency Biodefense Campus, FT Detrick, Maryland.
