Description
The Togus VA Medical Center has a requirement to construct a Specialist Care Addition work including general construction, renovations, additions, alterations, hazardous material abatement, walks, grading drainage, mechanical and electrical work, utility systems, fire protection, and select removal of existing structures and construction. Total square footage for new construction is between 13,700 sf and 16,700 sf. The construction of the Specialty Care Addition is at the Togus VAMC, Augusta, Maine. The purpose of this notice is to determine if there are qualified Small Businesses that have the experience within a hospital environment for this type of work and if such firms are interested in this procurement. The magnitude of construction is between; $5,000,000 to $10,000,000. The NAICS code is 236220 and the small business size standard is $36.5 Million. Interested firms should indicate their interest to the Contracting Officer not later than noon on 08/27/2018 via email to Kathleen.Koseoglu@va.gov. This project is planned for advertising in October 2018. Pursuant to FAR 19.502-1(a)(2) and FAR 19.502(b)(2), if two or more responsible small business concerns exist, and the government has a reasonable expectation of competition and that an award will be made at fair market prices, the contracting officer shall set aside the acquisition. If set-aside, FAR 52.219-14, requires that for general construction the small business contractor will self-perform at least 15% of the cost of the contract, not including the cost of materials. The resulting contract type is expected to be a Firm-Fixed Price The following information is required in response to this notice: Offeror's name, DUNS#, address, point of contact, phone number, and e-mail address. Offeror s interest in proposing on the solicitation when it is issued. Offeror's capability to perform contracts of this magnitude and complexity and comparable work performed within the past five (5) years - Describe your self-performed effort, brief description of the project, customer name, timeliness of performance, customer satisfaction, and dollar value of the project). Provide at least 3 comparable projects of similar size and scope within the past five (5) years Offeror's socioeconomic type and business size (Small Business). Prime shall provide proof of bonding capacity for a project of this magnitude; Prime shall provide proof of insurance for a construction project of this magnitude; Firms shall provide proof of valid Joint Venture or Teaming Arrangements, if applicable; Small Business firms shall be verified by the Center for Veteran Enterprises (CVE), if applicable; and Firms shall hold active SAM registration All information must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on the availability of interested firms. Failure to submit all information requested in addition to the below form will result in a contractor not being considered as an interested concern. If adequate interest is not received by noon on 08/27/2018, this action will is set-aside for Small Business firms. Interested firms must reply via e-mail to Kathleen.Koseoglu@va.gov. Firms must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM). Visit www.sam.gov to register in this database. Small Business firms must be verified by the Center for Veteran Enterprises (CVE).
