- Description
- In accordance with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Acquisition Management System (AMS) Policy 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract with a selected source via single-source procedures. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) intends to award a Single Source Purchase Order to Stratus Technologies, Inc., of Maynard, Massachusetts. This procurement is for annual Stratus ftServer Maintenance and Support. The FAA requires the Stratus servers for operational use in the National Airspace System (NAS) and are used at the hardware platform for components of the National Airspace Data Interchange Network (NADIN) Maintenance Rehost (NMR), Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS) Data Acquisition System (ADAS), and Weather Message Switching Center Replacement (WMSCR) systems. They are also used in the development, System Test and Training environments used by both 1st and 2nd level support personnel for these NAS systems. Stratus Technologies is the OEM and the only company that can supply the required annual maintenance to support the operational and training NAS Stratus servers in Atlanta, GA and Salt Lake City, UT as well as the development and test Stratus servers at the William J. Hughes Technical Center in Atlantic City, NJ. Stratus Technologies retains the proprietary data rights to the components and maintenance for the ftservers. A full and open competition is not available for this requirement. If your firm does not agree with the single source determination, please provide evidence of your firms ™ capabilities and experience in providing the above services. The FAA will evaluate accordingly. The FAA is not liable for any costs associated with the preparing of a response to this announcement. All responses to this announcement must be directed to Stephanie Petrone at Stephanie.petrone@faa.gov no later than 2:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, on August 16, 2018.
